I'm getting old and cynical, I guess, but The Damned released "New Rose" on October 22, 1976. That's nearly 31 years ago. And holy crap.
Wikipedia tells me that Marc Bolan died on 16 September, 1977. It was a year after "New Rose," but it seems like it was 100 years before.
I'm not sure exactly what I'm saying, except "holy crap." The Replacements broke up 16 years ago this week.
Sorry for posting an incoherent comment, but Peaches seems novel and edgy and yet, uh, holy crap.
